Mike Tyson
The former heavyweight world champion was all set for a promotional UK tour to promote his book ‘Undisputed Truth’ in 2013. But he found himself banned from entering because of new rules barring individuals with convictions resulting in a jail sentence of over four years. He was handed six years for rape in 1992.

Chris Brown
Chris Brown has to postpone his entire UK tour in 2010, his label Sony citing 'issues with his work visa’, which was partially the case. In fact, the Home Office denied the singer permission to enter the country – unsurprisingly – over his felony charge of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Martha Stewart

It was as a result of her time in prison for felony charges of conspiracy, obstruction and lying to federal investigators over sales of stock she had in a biopharmaceutical company.

Rapper Busta Rhymes arrived in London for a charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2008, but was detained at London City airport because he had 'unresolved’ convictions in the US, relating to assault and drink-driving. He was held for 12-hours, but eventually allowed to perform after appealing to the High Court.

Snoop Dogg
In 2006, Calvin Broadus, aka Snoop Doog, and some of his entourage were involved in a fracas at the British Airways First Class lounge, when some of the party were refused entry. The group vandalised the duty free shop, injuring seven police officers. Snoop and co were arrested, and released the next day, but the rapper was denied UK visas until 2010.

Dog The Bounty Hunter
Not for crimes against hair and fashion, but Duane Chapman, the Hawaii-based bounty hunter, was denied a UK visa in 2012 for his involvement in a 1976 murder case in Texas. It prevented the reality TV star from appearing in a series of 'Celebrity Big Brother’ for Channel 5.
