Celebrities pay tribute to Keith Chegwin

As the sad news of TV presenter Keith Chegwin's death is confirmed by his family today, celebrities and former colleagues of the much-beloved star have led tributes on Twitter.

The former Big Breakfast host, whose TV credits included shows from Saturday Superstore to Celebrity Big Brother, died on Monday morning (December 11) following a "long-term battle with a progressive lung condition".

Chegwin's former Big Breakfast colleague Gaby Roslin, Philip Schofield, Paddy McGuinness, former Celebrity Masterchef co-star Tom Parker, and It's a Knockout co-host Frank Bruno were amongst the stars to honour his memory.

"I was blessed to work with Keith Chegwin on The Big Breakfast and he was a happy and joyous man. So generous and kind," Gaby wrote on Twitter. "Bye bye Cheggers. So so sad... my love to his family."

This Morning's Philip described Keith as one of his "original Saturday morning heroes", tweeting: "I'm so stunned to hear that the utterly lovely Keith Chegwin has died. Can't get my head round this. One of my original Saturday morning heroes. Sending all my love to his family."
