Celebrity Big Brother 2016: Christopher Biggins Is Early Favourite To Win

Celebrity Big Brother launches tomorrow (July 28), but – without even stepping foot inside the Elstree bungalow – Christopher Biggins has already become the runaway favourite to win.

Following on from Jason Burrill’s shock victory on the regular (civilian) series of Big Brother, the bookies have been placing their odds on the 13 names that appeared on the recently leaked Celebrity cast line-up.

William Hill has tipped the 67-year-old national treasure as an early favourite at 7/2 – with Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson currently standing as his closest competition at 4/1.

Ariana Grande’s half-brother Frankie is in third place with 6/1 odds, TOWIE’s Lewis Bloor follows at 8/1, with Dog The Bounty Hunter’s wife Beth Chapman and Mob Wives cast member Renee Graziano both coming in at 10/1.

Anthea Turner’s ex Grant Bovey is the least likely to walk away with the winnings at only 25/1 - but as we have learned, the final outcome is often based on events inside the house, so this could all change yet!

Larger than life character Biggins – who is reportedly set to receive £150,000 for his time as a BB housemate – walked away with a TV trophy back in 2007, after his stint as a campmate in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

Since then, the panto legend has featured in numerous reality competitions, including Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me and Five Go To…, and most recently BBC One’s Celebrity MasterChef in 2014.

In light of his impressive television and theatre background, a William Hill spokesperson said: “Biggins has form when it comes to winning reality shows and he will be the one to beat when the celebrities enter the house.”

The official 2016 Celebrity Big Brother line-up will be unveiled tomorrow (July 28) as the live launch kicks off on Channel 5 from 9pm.
