In celebration of the 100th anniversary of women getting the vote in the UK, Emma Willis welcomed the likes of ex-Tory MP Ann Widdecombe, acting icon Amanda Barrie and the nation's first trans newsreader India Willoughby into the house.
However, the Big Brother house won't actually be staying entirely female for very long. At the end of Tuesday's launch show (January 2), Emma broke the news that the male housemates will arrive on Friday (January 5).
Once the boys move in, the women will still technically rule the roost. Amanda Barrie and Jess Impiazzi have already won immunity from next week's first live eviction - and only the ladies are nominating for this initial public vote.
Still, some viewers aren't exactly thrilled that the 'Year of the Woman'... only lasts four days in CBB world:
