John Barnes leaves Celebrity Big Brother 2018 house in shock backdoor eviction

John Barnes has been ejected from the Celebrity Big Brother house in a shock backdoor eviction.

The former footballer left the Channel 5 reality show after being selected by fellow contestants and not the viewers.

Barnes had been nominated alongside Daniel O'Reilly by the women's team during a battle of the sexes task.

When the women won, they had to choose which of the nominated housemates to save and which to evict.

Speaking in the Diary Room before leaving, Barnes said it was unexpected but there were "no hard feelings".

"I don't feel that they don't like me but I feel like they get on better with Dan... he is the life and soul of the house," he said.

"There are no hard feelings whatsoever because I know it is a hard decision for them to take.

"You can see Ashley crying, you can see Malika crying and I know people don't cry that quickly if they are faking it."

The star said he was looking forward to seeing his wife and kids after his stay in the reality TV house.
