New Celebrity Big Brother to have UK versus USA theme

Stars from across the pond have certainly made their rather memorable mark on Celebrity Big Brother over the years.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt became the most hated AND talked about famous couple on reality TV, while U.S. blogger Perez Hilton’s attention seeking ‘Perez Show’ still managed to endear him to viewers until the final bitter week.

And Channel Five aren’t messing with a winning formula, announcing a mouth-watering UK vs USA theme for the new series of the show.

Contestants, rumoured to include ex-model Janice Dickinson, wrestler Hulk Hogan and comic Kathy Griffin on the U.S. side, and TOWIE star Dan Osborne and former EastEnder Danniella Westbrook for the UK, will be pitted against each other according to their nationality.

And the famous north London house will even be decked out with British and American iconography to make the visitors feel right at home - sort of.

CBB has had no shortage of controversial moments since its 2011 Channel Five reboot, and we’re promised “all the excitement of a big sporting event” and “plenty of surprises along the way” when it returns to the small screen in August.

There’ll be the usual “epic trial of tasks, challenges and twists,” all captured on the CBB cameras of course, with Emma Willis back to present the main show and Rylan Clark fronting Celebrity Big Brother’s Side.

Meanwhile, the rumour mill is going into overdrive with Loose Women’s Sherrie Hewson, East 17 singer Brian Harvey and Linday Lohan’s mum Dina also being linked to the series.

Reality TV star and glamour model Katie Price was crowned the winner of the last Celebrity Big Brother back in January despite some fans labelling her ‘boring’.
