Christopher Biggins is reported to have been paid the most out of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother cohort netting an alleged £150,000.
This apparently gives the 67-year-old panto star the biggest pay cheque out of all the contestants this series.
Meanwhile, likes of Marnie Simpson, Stephen Bear and Chloe Khan are all walking away with just ‘five-figure sums’.
However, the sum is not even half of some of the previous celebrities who have taken part.
Most notable was the late David Gest who is believed to have been paid a whopping £600k to appear on the reality show.
Katie Price was reported to have taken home £400,000 for her stay in the house while US former model Janice Dickinson took home £300,000.
Meanwhile, actress Martine McCutcheon has said she turned down an ‘absolute fortune’ to walk through the Celebrity Big Brother doors.
Speaking on Loose Women, the Love Actually star said she believes that it just wouldn’t be worth the risk to her reputation.
“I get asked every year, and I’ve sometimes been offered absolute fortunes and sometimes I’ve needed it, but for me it’s just not been worth the price,” she said, adding:
"Money is always nice. No matter if you are rich or not and they do jangle those cheques, but they chuck money at you for a reason.”
“These shows are filmed in a certain way. You don’t always get to see everything, you don’t know how you’re going to be made out to look. Our reputation is everything, that’s what we ride on, that is our career, that’s what we do.”
