Celebrity Gogglebox star and world renowned chef Gordon Ramsay has opened up about the emotional moment when he found out that his daughter Tilly had a tumour.
While they gave their best shot at being couch critics for this special Stand Up to Cancer edition of Celebrity Gogglebox last night (October 28), Ramsay tearfully revealed how his daughter had to have a tumour removed at the tender age of 12.
The duo got visibly emotional as they talked about how much cancer has affected their family as they watched the story of a 22 year old who lost his life to cancer after becoming paralysed.
“When we found out you had a tumour, when you were 12, there was that horrible period of is it cancerous, is it non-malignant?” Gordon said as he couldn’t hold back tears. “Going into theatre with you, do you remember? And it wasn’t."
Tilly added: “I was very lucky.”
"And it wasn’t cancer, f**king hell, 22, it’s so unfair," Gordon replied.
Speaking about making the special appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox, Gordon and Tilly said: “We’re always happy to support the superb work that Stand Up To Cancer do, and despite our TV tastes being polar opposites, we had a lot of fun filming this very special episode of Gogglebox.”
“Every penny raised goes towards finding cures for cancer so I hope we can help raise bucket-loads of money,” they added.
During the episode, Gordon simply couldn’t handle how fast one of the couples, Brennan and Alexa, were moving, so he checked that cake onto his screen in frustration, much to the surprise of his daughter.
