Celebrity MasterChef is back for another year, with a new batch of famous faces in the kitchen.

Over the next six weeks, 12 stars will be hoping to impress Gregg Wallace, John Torode and special guests along the way to be crowned top chef.

On Thursday night, presenter Michelle Ackerley became the first to leave the competition .

The series continues tonight (Friday) with four celebrities slaving over a hot oven in the first set of heats with the Pairs Challenge, seeing the contestants split into two teams of two and tasked with cooking the same dish.

The celebrities have to cater for over 100 workers in jam-packed locations before cooking a two-course meal for the judges and a trio of former contestants.

Here's who is cooking tonight...

Josh Cuthbert

The singer shot to fame as part of Union J who formed on The X Factor back in 2012.

He is the second member of the band to appear on the cookery show, after Jaymi Hansley last year.

Keith Allen

The 64-year-old found fame as a comedian and soon appeared on both the small and the big screens, starring in Game of Thrones and Marcella, before working as a presenter.

He has two children, singer Lily Allen and actor Alfie Allen.

Carol Decker

T’Pau frontwoman Decker shot to fame in the 1980s as the pop group lead, most known for hit song China In Your Hand.

Martin Bayfield

The former police officer was part of England’s 1992 winning Five Nations Grand Slam team before he retired from the sport in 1998 following a neck injury.

The 51-year-old acted as Robbie Coltrane’s stunt double in the Harry Potter franchise, in which Coltrane played Hagrid, as well as appearing in the second film of the franchise as a young Hagrid.

The Council House Crackdown has been a familiar face on BBC in recent years, with her own daytime show as well as regularly hosting The One Show while Alex Jones was on maternity leave.

​Ackerley also presents Watchdog and Crimewatch as well as taking on local news for Inside Out Northwest.

Celebrity MasterChef begins Thursday 23 August at 8pm on BBC One, continuing at 8.30pm on Friday.
