Celebrity MasterChef has found a favourite to win 2024 title
Just two heats into the BBC contest, judges and viewers already think they've found the winner.
What did you miss?
Celebrity MasterChef judges and viewers think they might have already found the 2024 champion after just two heats.
Line of Duty star Rochenda Sandall has been taking part in this week's second heat of the competition where she has barely put a foot wrong so far.
In Friday's episode, Sandall stormed through the quarter-final into the semi-finals, with some predicting she could be crowned the Celebrity MasterChef winner.
What, how, and why?
Actor Rochenda Sandall has had one of the strongest competitions of anyone in Celebrity MasterChef so far this year, wowing judges with a range of dishes and flavour combinations.
She enjoyed her best comments yet in Friday's quarter-final, joining Harry Aikines-Aryeetey as the two contestants sent through to the semi-final.
Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace told her she was the most impressive cook in the kitchen as far as the guest judges - last year's finalists Wynne Evans, Luca Bish and Amy Walsh - were concerned, adding that her food had blown them away, too.
As Love Island star Bish tasted a ceviche starter Sandall had made, he predicted: "That's a dish you could put in the final."
Later, he admitted: "I'm glad Rochenda wasn't in my group because I would have been in trouble," as Walsh laughed: "That's so rude, because I was in your group."
Viewers agreed with Bish's comments as one person commented on X: "Rochenda could prove hard to beat. Nailing every round. So talented & enthusiastic!"
Someone else agreed: "Brilliant Rochenda! Could be overall winner."
What else has been happening on Celebrity MasterChef?
Earlier this week, viewers complained they didn't know who any of the celebrity line-up are this year.
Last week there were similar comments for the series' opening episodes, but this time as Love Island's Chloe Burrows, former EastEnder Danielle Harold, sprinter and Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (aka Nitro), comedian Eshaan Akbar and Line of Duty actor Rochenda Sandall joined the kitchen, viewers said the show should "just stop" if the celebrity calibre wasn't high enough.
One person commented on X: "Literally only know Danielle Harold from Eastenders Had to google the rest," as someone else agreed: "When do the celebrities get there? Only one I know is Danielle." Another person wrote: "A woman who was on Eastenders and four members of the public."
As the contestants were introduced, one viewer wrote: "Is this the unknown celebrity edition of #celebritymasterchef," and someone else added: "Should just call this episode Masterchef."
Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One at 8pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
