Celebrity Race Across the World is Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi’s honeymoon
Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi lead the Celebrity Race Across the World line-up
Celebrity Race Across the World is going to be like a “honeymoon” for Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi because they didn’t have one when they got married in 2022.
They were married in a picturesque 19th-century villa Torre di Cicero in the Italian town of Civitavecchia in October 2022. Parisi is Italian but he grew up in France. It was reported at the time that among the wedding guests were A-listers including singing legend Kylie Minogue.
Back then, the couple didn’t have a honeymoon, so before taking part in the BBC show, the lovebirds decided that Celebrity Race Across the World was kind of "like our honeymoon". Brook said: "We haven't had a honeymoon so this is like our honeymoon. What a crazy honeymoon: this will be!"
In an interview ahead of filming Celebrity Race Across the World, Brook and Parisi spoke about their hopes and dreams for one of the biggest adventures of their lives together.
Brook said: "I'm hoping to see parts of the world that I would never get to see. Parts of the world that are so off the beaten track. I think seeing the authentic place will be fantastic. I think just us being a couple together, creating new memories together will be amazing and spending that quality time."

For The Big Breakfast star, she really wanted the couple to have an "adventure" together. Despite being an incredibly tough TV show, Celebrity Race Across the World was going to allow the radio star to have a more "freeing experience" while away as she wouldn’t be able to be on her phone researching the restaurants or talking to the concierge about day trips.
She said: "I just really wanted us to go on an adventure together. And I just knew that this is the kind of trip that we’d never organise. We’re here in a hotel, and usually, I’d be on my phone, I’d be researching the best restaurants in the area, I’d be talking to the concierge to find out about day trips, if there’s any boats we could be chartering! I’m so on it with the travel. It's such a freeing experience not to be doing anything. It’s like a holiday from organising a holiday."
Parisi said he was looking forward to Celebrity Race Across the World because it would give him the chance to be with Brook all the time. "I’ll be with my wife 24/7, so I think it’s amazing," he said. "We work with our phone 24/7. You wake up and check your emails, your messages. Now everybody needs a phone, it’s part of our lives, social media and everything. So I’m quite happy to give my phone away and do a 5-week experience without it."
Brook playfully agreed: "We’ll actually have a conversation as a married couple!"
She said: "I think to have that quality time together and not be just having those kinds of boring conversations, like "Who's walking the dog?" "What should we have for dinner tonight?" To going "Should we get on this bus or that bus?" "Or should you do that job or this job?"

"It’s checking out of normal life and just living this parallel life of two backpackers. This was something we probably would have done if we were teenagers, but we never had that experience. So, we get to experience it together. So yes, it’s amazing."
They are devoted dog owners to their King Charles Cavalier, half poodle Teddy, so they made sure he was going to be well looked after while they headed off on their trip. "My mother and sister are happy because they’re coming to look after the dog," Parisi said. "They’re excited for us."
Celebrity Race Across the World returns to BBC One for series two on 14 August at 9pm.
