The secret is out: Celebrities are turning to a Sephora top-rated CBD lotion to ease foot pain brought on by uncomfortable shoes and high heels on the red carpet.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, celebrity stylists stocked their kits with the CBD-infused Lord Jones Body Lotion ($60) to rub on clients’ feet before they slip on high heels for the Oscars. Also known as cannabidiol, the ingredient is nonpsychoactive anti-inflammatory oil derived from the hemp plant.
“Applying CBD half an hour before wearing shoes, especially high heels, is very effective because it acts as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory, so it reduces pain and swelling,” Lord Jones co-founder and president Cindy Capobianco told Yahoo Lifestyle.
“Many of our customers apply the product and then put on a pair of socks to help lock in the hydrating benefits as they apply makeup or finish getting dressed,” says Capobianco. “For the most part, one application before going out has proven to be very effective. Many customers apply our lotion to their feet or legs before sleep, which is a great way to get ready for bed.”
The lotion, which is available at Sephora.com also comes in a fragrance-free formula and gets high praise from users. “This product takes the edge off my joint and muscle pain,” says one happy customer. “My grandmother is 101 with arthritis, and she loves the relief this gives. I like the scent but glad to see there’s an unscented option.”
“I was skeptical, but this stuff works great! Rubbed it on my sore ankle for near-immediate relief. Would definitely recommend,” notes a fan of the product.
Another adds, “I have tried several CBD lotions, and none of them compare to Lord Jones. I have arthritis in my fingers, and overall joint pain and this stuff works its magic.”
A first-time CBD user calls the lotion “life-changing,” explaining, “I have chronic neck, shoulder and back pain, and I also suffer from migraines and TMJ. I use this lotion nightly, and I’m able to sleep way better. It really takes the pain away, and I feel incredibly relaxed.”
Editors’ Note: There are contradictory laws at the federal and state levels about CBD’s legality. Additionally, many CBD products aren’t approved or tested by the Food and Drug Administration. If you’re worried, check the rules in your area to make sure everything’s OK before purchasing or proceeding.
