Celtic fans left baffled as club offers chance to 'own' virtual piece of Paradise
Celtic fans have been left baffled after the club offered its supporters the chance to "own a piece of Paradise" and buy a virtual square of the pitch.
In a recent post on X, the east end club encouraged Hoops fans to "be part of Celtic history" by purchasing a virtual keepsake. The initiative is in collaboration with Sportli Virtual Pitch and every sale involves a donation to the Celtic FC Foundation (understood to be £1) with money also going directly into the club.
Any supporter looking to buy a virtual section of the pitch for the year will have to fork out £29.99, and to buy a section for three years it will cost £49.99.

Despite some fans buying into the idea, others have slaughtered the club for promoting the initiative.
Taking to X, one fan said: "An absolute disgrace, shameful stuff."
Another said: "Sorry, but this is atrocious."
A third added: "Wait. So what am I actually getting for my money because it sounds like nothing."
And a fourth said: "Money grabbing at its absolute best. Incredible. I hope no one falls for this."
Earlier this year, Dundee United also offered fans a chance to buy a virtual square of the Tannadice pitch, and as met with a similar backlash from fans.
The offer is listed as "official merchandise sold under license" and more information can be found online here.
