Celtics Pay Tribute to Kobe Bryant With 24-Second Silence Before Game

The Boston Celtics paid tribute to Kobe Bryant on January 30 before the start of their first home game since the basketball legend died in a helicopter crash.

In honor of Bryant, who wore Los Angeles Lakers’ number 24, a 24-second moment of silence was held at the Celtics’ home arena, TD Garden. Bryant’s jersey number was also beamed onto the court’s parquet floor.

The announcer earlier read out the names of those killed in the January 26 helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people. Credit: Austin Bumpus via Storyful
