Chanel Cannes dinner with Vanity Fair sees Margot Robbie, Elle Fanning and more enjoy a glamorous soiree

Celebrities including Cannes jury member Elle Fanning, Margot Robbie, Chloe Sevigny and Marion Cotillard attended the Vanity Fair and Chanel dinner in Cannes this week, with many stars turning out in the fashion brand’s signature pieces.

Margot Robbie, whose Quentin Tarantino-directed film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood premiered at the festival, arrived in a white one shouldered lace gown. She kept her accessories to a minimum, opting for a diamond bracelet.

Robbie made headlines on Thursday, alongside director Quentin Tarantino, after her lack of lines in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was raised by a reporter in a press conference. Tarantino responded curtly to the journalist, "I reject your hypothesis" as Robbie added that "to show these wonderful sides of [her character Sharon Tate] could be adequately done without speaking".

Elle Fanning yet again proved she was this year’s red carpet Queen of Cannes. Dressed in yet another sophisticated ensemble, her floral embellished gown with a sweetheart neckline was worthy of a princess - plus it came with pockets.

Marion Cotillard’s edgier look featured a monogrammed black bandeau dress and a chain link belt, softened by a red bow.
