Changes to overnight closures on the A63 with Castle Street works 'progressing well'
Some changes have been made to planned closures on the A63 with work on the Castle Street scheme this month "progressing well".
Full closures in both directions between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way are now set to be in place each weeknight over the next two weeks between 8pm and 6am. The Thursday evening closure on January 30 was originally planned to be westbound only.
Meanwhile, the closure of the westbound side was scheduled to be delayed until 11pm on Tuesday, January 21 but it will now begin from 8pm.

However, the westbound closure planned further along the A63 between South Cave and North Ferriby for the safety barrier and light renewal project on the same night will be delayed until 11pm to allow supporters to leave the city in that direction following the end of the EFL Championship match between Hull City and Queens Park Rangers. Diversions will be in place for those heading to the east of the city from the MKM Stadium.
The closures planned until the end of the month between Daltry Street and Roger Millward Way are as follows:
Monday 20 to Friday, January 24 (5 nights) - Closed in both directions from 8pm until 6am
Monday 27 to Friday, January 31 (5 nights) - Closed in both directions from 8pm until 6am.
Meanwhile, overnight closures of the westbound A63 between North Ferriby and South Cave will continue each weeknight, Monday to Friday, from 8pm to 6am until Tuesday, January 28, with the exception of Tuesday, January 21 when it will begin at 11pm as stated.
The A63 Castle Street scheme is expected to be completed in Spring 2026 after a year-long delay was announced in December. The safety barrier and lighting renewal scheme between South Cave and North Ferriby is set to be finished in Spring this year.
