Channel 4 Gogglebox star leaves UK days after issuing emotional statement
A star of Channel 4's Gogglebox has left the UK just days after he marked the anniversary of his mother's death in an emotional post on social media. Stephen Webb was a fan favourite on the show until he left in 2023.
The 53-year-old has since been keeping fans updated with posts on his social media profiles. A recent upload showed a video of a plane taking off before the camera flipped to show Stephen holding a drink up. The TV star captioned the post: "8 hours outbound, 5 hours sleep, 30 mins treadmill = the rest of the day by the pool @_sohohousemumbai_"

Fans left supportive messages in the comments, with one follower writing: "Have a fantastic time." A second simply said: "Have a wonderful time."
One person joked: "Have fun, I’m coming with you on your next trip." Stephen's post comes days after he shared a tribute to his mum on the anniversary of her death on January 27, Liverpool Echo reports.
He said: "One year since mummy Pat passed, miss your laughter, your no nonsense advice. The only person who could make me crying laughing. Miss ya mum."
Stephen previously wrote in a tribute to his mum back in 2023: "Mummy Pat, you were one in a million, took everyone at face value, would share your last fiver with a stranger, the salt of the earth and the absolute centre of our world! Rest in peace mum."
During his time on Gogglebox, Stephen appeared alongside ex-husband Daniel Lustig and also shared the sofa with his mum Pat and friend Chris Butland-Steed.
Speaking about his decision to quit the show ahead of what was to be an appearance on Dancing on Ice last year, Stephen revealed: "It's time to move on and see what else is out there". Stephen and his former partner Daniel Lustig split up in 2024.
