If you’ve been wondering what Channing Tatum has been up to of late, then you just needed to look to the stars for answers.

As it turns out, the Magic Mike actor has been downloading The Pattern app and then getting very annoyed with its spooky ability to know what he’s up to.

Tatum vented his frustrations in a video, which he posted to his social media channels on Friday. In it he asked the makers of the app to DM him, as he needed “some answers right now”.

What seemed to shake the actor up was the app’s ability to know details of what he’d been discussing the day before, prompting him to ask, “is the phone listening?”

In the video, which has had almost 4m views on Instagram - and another 4m on Twitter, Tatum also revealed that he was currently in therapy.

Viewers of the video split into three camps of opinion – those that were worried about Tatum’s mental health, astrology fans and those that thought that the actor might have invested in the app and was raising its profile.

The outcome in any case was that the app crashed due to all the extra attention. In fact, the creators of The Pattern actually did respond to the actor, saying, “Hey@channingtatum!👋 Thanks for letting us know you planned on crashing our servers today 😂 We’ll be sliding into your dms shortly.”

Girlfriend Jessie J didn’t seem worried by proceedings either, as she also commented saying, “It’s me.... I’m the pattern. I’m sliding in your dm’s in 3.....2.....(sliding)....1.”

So what is The Pattern? The app’s website says it’s a “a social network that helps you better understand yourself and connect with others on a deeper level.”

Adding, “Explore your Personal Pattern to gain insight about various sides of your personality. Your Timing offers an overview of what you're going through at this moment in time. These cycles are personal to only you. Understanding these dynamics can help you to navigate the difficult times and take advantage of the positive opportunities that you might otherwise miss.”

The site also states that you can also add friends to the app. So Jessie J had better watch out.

Tatum posted on Instagram just last week stating that he was “ literally and pacing in the office and don’t know what to do with myself” due to the fact his creative partner, film producer, Reid Carolin, was away on his honeymoon.

Looks like he’s found a way to entertain himself.
