Jenna Dewan announced her engagement to Steve Kazee, her first serious boyfriend since she and Channing Tatum ended their marriage, on Tuesday night. Tatum was silent on social media over the news, but a source spoke to E! about how the Magic Mike star feels about his ex-wife fully moving on. Tatum has also moved on and is dating Jessie J.
"Channing is very happy for Jenna and Steve's engagement," the source said. "Channing has expressed that he is happy Jenna is in a good place and has moved on."
Tatum's priority remains on his daughter with Dewan, Everly, who's six. Everly will always connect the former married couple, the source continued: "Jenna has a special place in [Channing's] heart since she is the mother of their child, but they have both moved on and are happy in their new relationships. Channing's main priority and concern is his daughter, and him and Jenna are both happy to have worked out a co-parenting agreement."
In their initial statement, the two stressed they would remain devoted friends and co-parents.
"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple," they said. "We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision—just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone, Chan&Jenna."
