Channing Tatum has confirmed that marriage is on the cards for him and Zoe Kravitz but joked that it could depend on how their new movie does.

The Magic Mike actor met the Big Little Lies star on new psychological thriller Blink Twice, which Kravitz directed and Tatum stars in. They fell for each and are now an item, and on Monday's (19 August) instalment of The One Show Tatum confirmed fans could be hearing wedding bells sometime soon.

However, he also quipped that he'd have to wait and see if Kravitz still wanted to marry him after the release of their movie this month.

Tatum was discussing the film when the BBC show's host Alex Jones brought up his romance with Kravitz, which the two stars haven't tended to say too much about.

Jones noted that it was "fair" to say they got on well on set. "So fair that we might get married!" The Hollywood star replied. He chuckled: "Well, we will see how the movie does, if she still wants to marry me!"

The actor, who was previously married to Step Up star Jenna Dewan, went on: "I didn't know Zoe before. A friend of mine, Riley Keough, texted me and she was like, 'Hey I have a friend who wants to send you a script' and I was like, 'Great'.

"And I just thought she was going to be producing it or something and was going to be in it with me. I had one meeting with her, I'd never met her before, and you could tell, she didn't say it loud but you could kind of tell that she... I was like, 'I think she wants to direct this thing'."

"The script was so bold," he went on, adding: "I mean, I hadn't really read anything like it."

Tatum also said he thought Kravitz had done brilliantly making the movie. "You would never know it is her first time directing, you really wouldn't," he said. "I bow, I lay down, because she is a relentless, relentless creator and this won't be the last movie that she makes I can guarantee you."

Blink Twice follows a billionaire with a dark secret and while most plot details are under wraps to avoid spoilers, Tatum did confirm that the role in the twisty thriller is a change for him. "Getting to stretch and do something new and different is what I think we all try and decide, on some level, to try and do," he said.

"But this one was a weird one in the way that I always usually would pull something from my own actual personal life or personal experience and put it in or that would be my way into the character but this one I couldn't really do that with.

"I don't know if I will ever tell anybody really what I actually created in my head to be this guy... it was really weird and really dark sometimes."
