Chanting for Ethiopian Orthodox Christmas Eve in Lalibela after government retakes town

Priests and worshippers chanted at a religious site in Lalibela on Ethiopian Orthodox Christmas Eve, Thursday 6 January. It came just weeks after Ethiopian government forces re-took the town from Tigrayan rebels -- a key moment in the country's civil war. The town's stone-hewn churches are UNESCO-listed and thousands of pilgrims made the journey to Lalibela for Christmas despite the conflict.
