Chaos in Swadlincote retail park as crowds watch Citroen crash into 14 cars
Crowds of shocked shoppers gathered after a Citroen dramatically crashed into 14 vehicles at a busy Derbyshire retail park. Derbyshire police were called to a report of a car smashing into 14 other vehicles at Hepworth/Pipeworks Retail Park in Swadlincote on Friday, January 17.
The car reportedly collided with a number of vehicles in the car park before officers attended the scene and took the driver to hospital for medical checkups. Derbyshire police explained no criminal investigation had been launched as a result of the collision, which happened at around 5pm.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire police stated: "We were called to reports of a Citroen colliding with 14 other vehicles in a car park in Coppice Side, Swadlincote, at 5.15 pm. No criminal investigation is taking place, and the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital for medical checks."

The chaotic scene caused crowds to form in the centre of the busy retail park. A number of videos and pictures posted to social media showed the extent of the damage caused, as well as the large police presence as a result of the 14-car collision.
The Pipeworks has a number of different outlets trading there, they include Aldi, Iceland, and a Sue Ryder charity shop. There is also a Snap Fitness gym, Odeon cinema, Prezzo restaurant, Costa Coffee shop, Subway, and the Tall Chimney pub at the busy shopping complex.
