Charlotte Dawson has said she's felt the presence of her late father Les Dawson since she and her partner Matthew Sarsfield welcomed their son into the world.

The tot, who's named Noah Dawson Sarsfield, was born in late January a week before what would've been his comedian grandad's 90th birthday.

The 28-year-old told the Daily Star: “I have felt my dad’s presence since Noah has been here. He is definitely around us.

“Noah has the same star sign as my dad. And he was born exactly a week before dad’s birthday. So I definitely feel like my dad is around us and looking after us and guiding us.”

Les died of a sudden heart attack in 1993 when he was 62 and Charlotte was just eight-months-old. However, she's shared that she will make sure he is a part of her son's life.

“I am heartbroken that my dad isn’t going to meet Noah. But at least he can get to know him through videos and footage and pictures.

"Noah is so lucky that he can see his grandad that way. As he grows up, I’ll play him clips of my dad from YouTube and home footage," she said.

Despite her dad dying when she was just a baby he has continued to play a big role in the TV star's life.

Charlotte has a tattoo of her famous parent pulling his signature gurning face and has previously spoken about how she and her mother Tracy, Les' widow, keep his memory alive at Christmas with a festive ritual.

The pair visit the statue of the comedian which stands in Lytham St Annes and set a cardboard cutout of him by the table.
