There's toil and trouble a-brewing for the stars of Charmed – both the original show and the new reboot for The CW.

A re-make of the original '90s series first aired back in 2018 to lukewarm reviews, but now Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs have had their say on the new adventures of the Power of Three.

In a video, Rose and Holly – who played Paige and Piper Halliwell, respectively – can be heard lamenting the fact that the "original Charmed" can't be found on Netflix, whereas the "new Charmed" can. "But it sucks!" Rose cries.

"I haven't seen it, I can't say that," she offered as a caveat, as Holly laughed. "I've never seen it. I'm happy that people have jobs – but it can still suck."

In response to the clip, Charmed's Sarah Jeffery, who plays Maggie, told followers on Twitter that she found their comments "sad and quite frankly pathetic".

"You know, I saw this earlier and I refrained from saying anything. I thought, better to just let them shout into the abyss," she wrote. "But I do want to say, I find it sad and quite frankly pathetic to see grown women behaving this way."

The Charmed One added that she hoped Rose and Holly would avoid "putting down" women of colour, in a nod to the reboot's more inclusive and diverse cast.

"I truly hope they find happiness elsewhere, and not in the form of putting down other WOC. I would be embarrassed to behave this way," Sarah continued. "Peace and love to y'all."

But Holly later fired back: "That's some bullshit. And a lot of it. Clearly. People speaking, excuse me typing, derogatory accusations of a person's character despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary because of a difference in opinions about a tv show is just plain wrong. And also personal gain honey."
