Viewers of The Chase were swift to voice their irritation, calling out one show to stop minutes into the show. On Wednesday's episode broadcast on January 22, host Bradley Walsh, aged 64, returned to our screens with four hopefuls poised to win big on the hit ITV quiz show.

This episode saw Samir from Surrey, Jill from Abergele, Godfrey from London, and Lilli from Cardiff, ready to take on Anne Hegerty – better known as The Governess. They engaged in a fierce clash of knowledge as they demonstrated their quizzing skills.

First to go up against The Governess was Samir, who opted for the middle offer of £5,000. When asked about his potential winnings, he humorously said: "I should invest it, which is a little bit boring but I'd really like to take Maya Jama out for dinner."

The crowd loved it, and with a chuckle, Bradley Walsh gave a nod to the camera and said: "Well there you are Maya, Samir is here for you. She is a lovely girl too."

After successfully beating the chaser, Samir advanced to the next round, although the audience couldn't ignore his tendency to provide lengthy answers and talk with his hands.

Critiques started pouring in on the platform previously referred to as Twitter, as fans of The Chase took issue with the long-winded explanations from one participant. A vexed viewer expressed, "I can't cope with all his long explanations #thechase,".

Another fan shared their frustration, commenting: "Are the explanations necessary?? Please stop! #TheChase."

Meanwhile, a different viewer found amusement in the antics, joking: "Thanks for the explanations to your answers, Samir! I'm sure they weren't too long! #TheChase."
