The Chase is getting a US remake, featuring the stars of fellow gameshow Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time.
As revealed back in July by Deadline, James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter – the three highest money winners in the history of Jeopardy! – will serve as the Chasers for the US version, which has now been confirmed for a nine-episode series.
The new series, which is produced by ITV America's ITV Entertainment, will be hosted by The View's Sara Haines.
Just like the UK version, the show sees contestants compete against a professional quizmaster, whose aim is to prevent them from winning a cash prize.
The contestants are faced with a number of general knowledge questions in a money building round, followed by a one-on-one with a randomly selected Chaser. In the final round, the remaining contestants must work together to take home a share of their combined cash total.
This will actually be the second time The Chase has been adapted for the US, with Chaser Mark Labbett, aka The Beast, previously taking the show to the States.
On the decision to pick Holzhauer, Jennings and Rutter as the Chasers, ABC's chief of reality TV Robert Mills said: "Whether it's something with Jeopardy! or not, certainly I would argue these three guys are the biggest stars in primetime right now."
The Chase UK airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
