The Chase star splits with partner after a year

The Chase star Mark Labbett has split with girlfriend, presenter Hayley Palmer, almost exactly a year after they started dating. Hayley took to Instagram on Saturday afternoon to share the news with her fans.

She wrote: "It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. We had the best year together, and I truly wish him all the very best for the future,

"Off I go to listen to Taylor Swift." She ended her post with a broken heart emoji.,

The post comes just data after Hayley shared a picture of their one-year anniversary, writing "One year anniversary - same beach, same bench"

Mark's most recent post, showing off his latest incredible weight loss after his diabetes diagnosis prompted him to get well, was from a pub meal taken two days ago.

The Chase star, born in Tiverton, and went on to study at University of Exeter, also shared a picture from the same anniversary beach trip.

Just days ago Mark was talking about his relationship on ITV's Loose Women, where he appeared alongside Hayley.

Mark appeared on Loose Women alongside his girlfriend Hayley Palmer. When asked about their relationship over the past year, Mark said it was the distance as he is based in Sheffield and she is in Chelsea.

He said: "Because we live quite a bit apart, obviously I live up by Sheffield and she's a Chelsea girl, we tend to look at our diaries and when we can sync up together. The good news is we see each other every few weeks, but we make the most of it when we're together, so you get the best of both worlds."

Hayley added: "We get excited when we see each other, which is really nice."

Discussing their anniversary plans, Hayley revealed: "We're actually going... it might be quite sad to some people, but to us it's really special. We're going back to the bench, we sat on this bench on a beach a year ago and it's where we first thought actually, this could be something."

This comes after Mark reminisced about how the couple first met at the National Television Awards two years ago. His agent had jokingly mentioned that he had secured the quizzer a Toby Carvery gold card in front of her, which sparked a connection between them - and after one date, they were both certain they wanted to pursue a relationship.
