Watch out, contestants on the US version of The Chase, because The Beast is coming.

Yes, Chaser Mark Labbett has signed on for season two of the quiz show, joining returning Chasers James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.

The US version of the show airs on ABC and is hosted by The View's Sara Haines. Season two will debut on Sunday, June 6.

Mark was previously on the original US incarnation of The Chase, which aired on GSN from 2013 to 2015, as the sole Chaser.

Earlier this year, Mark and his fellow British Chasers Anne Hegerty and Shaun Wallace travelled to the US for spin-off show The Chasers Road Trip: Trains, Brains and Automobiles.

And one moment got fans talking about a potential romance between Mark and Anne after she appeared to give him 'a look' when he emerged from the ocean.

Shutting down any speculation, Anne said: "Let's not go there. I always say we're not each other's type and I don't do younger men. I just looked over my shoulder at the sea and they cut in an image of Mark coming out.

"Mark was not actually doing that at that time. Editors are wicked. Producers just like to do that sort of thing. I laughed and then I rolled my eyes and thought, 'For God sake, now everyone's going to think I have a crush on Mark'."

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
