The Chase's Jenny Ryan updates fans on house hunt following Escape to the Country appearance

The Chase's Jenny Ryan revealed she is still hunting for a new house despite falling in love with a cottage on BBC's Escape to the Country. Jenny and her partner Thom Tuck appeared on the BBC property show in 2023 as they revealed to host Jules Hudson about their plans to move from the city "back home" to the countryside near her hometown of Bolton.

Jenny originally moved to London early in her career as she pursued her dream of becoming a TV star. Having joined The Chase, the quizmaster made her home in the city as she continued to film for the ITV quiz show.

Jenny and her boyfriend loved the second property which was a Lancashire cottage with surrounding woodland, transport links and the ability to travel to film The Chase. Jenny wanted to view the £695,000 stone cottage for a second time with her parents to get their views before progressing further.

Jenny Ryan's appearance was repeated on BBC One on Friday (September 13) but Jenny Ryan updated her fans on Instagram that she sadly did not buy the house. She explained that before she could even get another viewing, another person put an offer on the property.

She was not surprised another house hunter had bought the property but quipped "the search continues".

Jenny Ryan said: "So my episode of Escape to the Country was on again this week, and so many people have been asking me, what happened next. I think it's quite clear, if you've watched the show that house number two was the one that I absolutely loved.

"What I really wanted to do was to take my parents to have a viewing and see what they thought by the time we could arrange that, someone else had put an offer in on the place. I mean, it's a great place, so absolutely no wonder somebody snapped it up.

"Hope they're having a lovely time there. So for me, the search continues."

During the Escape to the Country episode, Jenny Ryan loved the property and its surroundings. She said: "I'm hearing the bird song now and I know my stepdad would be in his element here because he's a keen bird watcher. He's travelled the world looking at birds."

She added: "It's something that we've done as a family for quite a few years and it's part of that going back and enjoying nature.

"There's so much more potential for that, for sharing a new stage of life with this property, because it's got something for all of us and we can share it out more equally."
