The Chase's Paul Sinha will not appear in upcoming episodes of Beat the Chasers, despite appearing in the first series of the spin-off earlier this year.

Paul – also known as The Sinnerman – explained his absence to followers on Twitter, revealing why he was unable to attend filming for the new episodes, which see the show's Chasers team up and go head-to-head against a contestant.

We're glad to hear it, Paul!

While fans won't get to see The Sinnerman take part in The Chase's prime-time spin-off, there is another Chase-related series we'll be able to catch him in: ITV Hub's The Chase Extra.

The six-episode series will flip the main gameshow's format and allow each Chaser to have a go at being a quizmaster, presenting their fans 10 (fiendishly difficult, we expect) quiz questions.

Paul, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, and Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis will each present their own episode, while also sharing jokes and some all-important quiz tips.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
