In what may be the most random news story of the day, The Chase's Vixen - aka Jenny Ryan - has revealed that she was ejected from a train seat by EastEnders' Dean Gaffney.

The quiz star took to Twitter, joking about the "indignity" of being moved from her seat by the Robbie Jackson actor.

"I have just been evicted from my booked train seat in favour of Dean Gaffney. Oh, the indignity," she wrote.

The plot then thickened, as Jenny revealed: "He's got the whole bloomin' carriage (filming something)!"

And while she expressed her annoyance, it seemed her Twitter rant paid off, as she then revealed that Dean said sorry for what happened... and even got an apology gift out of it.

"Sometimes a Twitter whine works - Dean has sent his apologies and a cupcake. Ta, Dean!" Jenny revealed.

She further explained: "Ah, it's all okay - they needed the carriage to film something, and I'm in a nice comfy seat just two carriages down now. They were very apologetic and I now have a yummy cake!"

Dean himself hasn't addressed the incident on social media, though we imagine this is a scandal to rival any EastEnders storyline.

Meanwhile, Jenny was involved in an awkward Chase moment this week after one contestant repeated a wrong answer that she had already given seconds before.

The Chase airs on ITV, while EastEnders airs on BBC One.
