Once you've got the where and when down, the next thing to reflect on is how you are going to get there. Thankfully though, you don't need to go hunting for hours over which flight is the cheapest, with many sites doing it for you.

Don't just go directly to an airlines website, instead visit comparison website to see if you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Comparison sites search online travel agents as well as airlines to find the cheapest flight options for your destination and date, and the cheapest place to buy from.

Some comparison sites search different firms, so you should check at least two before booking. Don't just go for the first one you see as you could get cheaper elsewhere.

What are good flight comparison sites to use?

One of the benefits of Google Flights, for example, is if you are just browsing and aren't ready to book yet, you can get alerted to when a price changes for certain routes.

Another great site is Skyscanner. This site is a flight, car hire and hotel search engine. By scanning top airlines and travel providers, you can compare prices and other travel costs making your holiday planning less stressful.
