The cheapest places in Northern Ireland for petrol and diesel this week as prices rise
The cheapest and most expensive places around Northern Ireland for petrol and diesel this week have been revealed.
Each week, the Consumer Council's Fuel Price Checker updates with the average fuel prices for towns and cities around Northern Ireland, showing which areas are the cheapest and most expensive.
The trend across Northern Ireland shows over the past week, both petrol and diesel prices have increased. The regional average price for petrol is 131.2p, which is up from 130.8p last week.

The average price for diesel across the region is 136.9p, which is up from 136.0p last week. Currently, the cheapest place to buy petrol is in Co Derry, while part of Co Antrim has the lowest price for diesel.
In Newtownabbey, a litre of diesel costs an average of 132.9p - which is 4p below the Northern Ireland average this week. In Limavady, a litre of petrol is currently an average of 128.4p, which is 2.8p below the regional average.
Petrol is also below the average price this week in Antrim town, Ballycastle, Ballymena, Banbridge, Belfast, Coleraine, Cookstown, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Newtownabbey, Omagh, and Strabane.
When it comes to diesel, below average prices can also be found in Antrim town, Ballycastle, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Banbridge, Bangor, Belfast, Coleraine, Cookstown, Craigavon, Downpatrick, Limavady, Lisburn, Newtownabbey, and Omagh.

Throughout the UK, the average price of petrol and diesel rose in December 2024, new figures released this week show. The details from the Office for National Statistics show that the average price of petrol increased 1.4p to 136.2p per litre, with the average price of diesel rising 2p per litre to 142.5p.
The average price of petrol in December was down 4.6% year-on-year, compared with a fall of 10.7% the previous month, while diesel fell 5.8% compared with a previous drop of 11.6%.
