Chef reveals biggest mistake when making gravy
A chef has shared the biggest mistake people make when preparing gravy. No-one does gravy quite like the Brits, but an Australian has revealed one way you can make or break yours.
Stephanie de Sousa, who was a contestant on MasterChef Australia and now shares her food creations to her 1.2 million followers on her Instagram page @steph_cooks_stuff, told 9honey Kitchen that one simple misstep can instantly ruin your gravy, and it's all about timing, not ingredients.
The chef explained that gravy should never be seasoned before it has reduced. A proper reduction takes time but can transform a liquid mixture into a delicious gravy.

As the reduction process unfolds, the gravy will start to thicken as the liquid evaporates due to heat. If you season the gravy while it's still in its most liquid state, the saltiness will intensify as the gravy reduces.
