Antonio Conte has revealed Thibaut Courtois failed to make Chelsea's FA Cup quarter-final squad facing Leicester City due to injury.

As expected, Willy Caballero started between the posts as he has done in all of Chelsea's domestic cup games.

However, third-choice goalkeeper Eduardo was named among the substitutes instead of Courtois, who Standard Sport understands has a hamstring injury/

Conte confirmed Courtois was missing because of injury ahead of kick-off, despite appearing to hint during his Friday press conference that the goalkeeper may have started at the King Power Stadium.

"Courtois has a muscular injury," he told BBC Sport. "Caballero has played every game in this competition and played well."

Courtois was heavily criticised after Chelsea's previous game against Barcelona, being beaten twice by Lionel Messi with shots between his legs as the Blues crashed out of the Champions League.

The Belgian was candid in his comments after the match, insisting he would not hide from criticism and vowed to prove himself after a difficult season.

Chelsea face Leicester on Sunday afternoon, aiming to make the last four of the FA Cup for the second consecutive season.

Conte added: "This game has the same importance as at the start of the season. We have to try to play every competition and fight until the end."
