Chelsea FC 4-0 Juventus LIVE! Werner caps rout - Champions League result, match stream and latest updates today
Thomas Tuchel’s side welcome Juventus to Stamford Bridge, with the competition’s holders keen to get their revenge for the defeat suffered in Turin earlier in the group stage.
Federico Chiesa scored ten seconds into the second half to give the Italian side a 1-0 victory, and with both teams winning all of their other matches, Chelsea currently sit three points behind Juventus in Group H.
The Blues go into the match full of confidence, after comfortably beating Leicester over the weekend. They are three points clear at the top of Premier League, and know a point against Juventus would officially secure their place in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Juventus have been unable to replicate their European form in Serie A, with Massimiliano Allegri’s side eighth in the table and 11 points off table-toppers Napoli.

“For all of Tuchel’s reputation for building a mean rear-guard, it is the freedom he gives to his defenders that makes Chelsea such a dangerous proposition.”

High praise from Joe Cole

"I don't think a manager has come in at Chelsea and had the effect that's he's had."
"He's doing a marvelous job and Chelsea are very lucky to have him."

Fun? For every other club in the competition was ominous...
22:08 , Malik Ouzia
In terms of what that does for the group, Chelsea and Juventus are now level at the top on 12 points but the Blues have the superior head-to-head record and that means that they will qualify as group winners should they equal Juve’s result on the final day.
Chelsea have to travel to Zenit, while Juventus host Malmo, so it’s far from a done thing but Thomas Tuchel will be delighted with his side.
Pick of the bunch?
22:03 , Malik Ouzia
Reece James is an absolute joke! 🤭

FT: Chelsea 4-0 Juventus
21:56 , Malik Ouzia
A proper pasting.
GOAL! Chelsea 4-0 Juventus | Timo Werner 90+4'
21:53 , Malik Ouzia
And that just about caps it!
James pings an outrageous ball out to Ziyech, who flashes across the face and Werner is on hand to tap home. To his relief, the flag stays down.
21:50 , Malik Ouzia
90+2 mins: We’re playing five minutes of stoppage time...
21:44 , Malik Ouzia
87 mins: Great save. Timo Werner has looked bright and he does well to feed Ziyech, who strokes towards the bottom corner but Szczesny is down to deny him.
21:40 , Malik Ouzia
83 mins: He’s not had much to do tonight, Edouard Mendy, but this is a smart save, tipping a rasping, rising effort from McKennie over the bar.
21:37 , Malik Ouzia
80 mins: A goal for Timo Werner on his return would just about cap a perfect night for Chelsea, injuries aside, but he finds his effort blocked.
21:33 , Malik Ouzia
76 mins: More Chelsea changes - Hudson-Odoi is off to a standing ovation and Jorginho will take a blow as well. Mason Mount and Saul Niguez are on.
21:28 , Malik Ouzia
71 mins: In fact, Alonso has sat back down on the bench. Looks like Azpilicueta will just go over to the left. Pulisic is the man to make way for Werner, who gets a great reception.
21:26 , Malik Ouzia
69 mins: Yep, looks like Chilwell is done. He hobbles off gingerly and will be replaced by Marcos Alonso.
Cesar Azpilicueta and Timo Werner are also about to come on.
21:24 , Malik Ouzia
66 mins: This would be a sickener. Ben Chilwell is down and writhing in agony in the middle of the park. The challenge looked fairly innocuous but he is in real pain.
21:18 , Malik Ouzia
61 mins: Max Allegri has reacted to that goal by sending on Paulo Dybala in place of Bentancur. Too little, too late, you’d think.
GOAL! Chelsea 3-0 Juventus | Callum Hudson-Odoi 58'
21:15 , Malik Ouzia
Rampant.
Chelsea have blown Juventus away at the start of this second half and it’s brilliant football. James again has space on the right but this time plays inside to Ziyech. Intricate stuff finds Loftus-Cheek and then Hudson-Odoi, who cannot miss.
GOAL! Chelsea 2-0 Juventus | Reece James 56'
21:12 , Malik Ouzia
How good is this bloke?
It’s vintage Tuchel Chelsea as Chilwell crosses to into the middle and De Ligt’s header clear only find James in space. As he did in the first-half, the wing-back cushions on his chest and strikes towards the far corner. This time there’s no stopping it and the Blues are two up.
21:09 , Malik Ouzia
52 mins: Rabiot’s been given a torrid time by Reece James so far this evening and now he’s had the ball leathered in his face by the Englishman as he races out to block a cross. When it rains...
21:06 , Malik Ouzia
48 mins: Clever interchange between Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi sends the latter racing away but he rather dallies once driving in on goal and his effort is blocked behind by De Ligt.
KICK-OFF!
21:02 , Malik Ouzia
We are back underway...
And here is that epic Silva clearance...

Here’s how Chalobah put Chelsea in front...
20:55 , Malik Ouzia
That is a brilliant finish from Trevoh Chalobah! 💥
What a moment in his first-ever #UCL start...

HT: Chelsea 1-0 Juve
20:48 , Malik Ouzia
Chalobah’s goal is the difference at the break.
20:47 , Malik Ouzia
45+2 mins: Let off. Right at the end of the half, Chelsea almost gift Juve a chance as they’re slow getting out to Bentancur but he fires over from the edge of the box.
20:45 , Malik Ouzia
45 mins: Into the final regulation minute of a half that Chelsea have been very impressive in once again, but still have that Silva clearance to thank for being ahead.
Two minutes to be added...
Dan Kilpatrick at Stamford Bridge
20:43 , Malik Ouzia
It’s no surprise where the goal came from because Chelsea are getting something on the ball at almost every set piece. De Ligt and Bonucci are giants but the Blues have control in the air.
James Robson at Stamford Bridge
20:41 , Malik Ouzia
James has been outstanding this half. He looks better and better each week. He has totally bossed the right hand side and forced two good saves from Szczesny.
20:37 , Malik Ouzia
37 mins: Good stop, this. Hudson-Odoi clips one out to James, who is again in acres, and the full-back chests ahead of him and leathers the bouncing ball across goal towards the far corner, where Szcesny is able to push it round the post.
Meanwhile, Loftus-Cheek is on.
20:36 , Malik Ouzia
36 mins: Federico Chiesa has hardly had a kick so far. He’s just gone into the channel to chase a loose ball, which Thiago Silva mops up, and I reckon it’s the first time I’ve seen him involved.
Trouble for Chelsea here though - looks like N’Golo Kante’s got a problem. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is about to come on.
Dan Kilpatrick at Stamford Bridge
20:32 , Malik Ouzia
Silva’s brilliant goal-line clearance from Morata’s chip earned almost as big a cheer as the goal. Decisive moments at either end in the last few minutes but you can’t deny that Chelsea deserve their lead on the balance of play.
20:28 , Malik Ouzia
28 mins: Off the line!
What. A. Clearance.
Alvaro Morata is in to give Juve an immediate equaliser and he lifts over Mendy but Thiago Silva gets back brilliantly to hook clear on the line. Sensational defending.
James Robson at Stamford Bridge
20:27 , Malik Ouzia
You can see why Juve would be unhappy with that goal. Rudiger did appear to touch the ball with his hands when laying it off to Chalobah. But the Italians have no excuse for giving the Chelsea goal-scorer so much room to control his shot in the box and fire into the roof of the net.
GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Juventus | Trevor Chalobah 25’
20:24 , Malik Ouzia
There’s the breakthrough!
And what a moment for young Trevor Chalobah. Juventus are furious because Ziyech’s corner hits Rudiger on the hand before dropping to Chalobah to rifle home.
It looks like it takes a nick off a Juve defender just in-front of the German, though, and perhaps that’s why VAR decides the goal stands.
20:23 , Malik Ouzia
24 mins: Close!
From the resulting free-kick, James tries to catch Szczesny out at the near post as everyone waits for the cross and the Pole scrambles across to palm it away.
20:23 , Malik Ouzia
23 mins: Juan Cuadrado is the first man in the book as he gets himself in a tangle with Hudson-Odoi and ends up having to haul him down. Max Allegri, meanwhile, is absolutely raving at his bench. He’s furious with what he’s seen from his side so far.
Dan Kilpatrick at Stamford Bridge
20:20 , Malik Ouzia
Chelsea are patiently probing for a breakthrough against a compact Juve side but missing a focal point at the moment. Tuchel won’t be concerned but it must be reassuring to have the option of Lukaku back on the bench.
20:19 , Malik Ouzia
19 mins: The lack of width in the Juventus midfield means that big switch of play out to James is on every time. On the left, meanwhile, it’s Hudson-Odoi who is staying widest and Chilwell is really enjoying the licence to go inside and pop up wherever he likes.
20:15 , Malik Ouzia
15 mins: Better from Chelsea. Again, it’s Chilwell heavily involved as he’s found in behind by Hudson-Odoi’s pass and some combination of Juventus shirts manage so force his pull-back away from goal.
James Robson at Stamford Bridge
20:12 , Malik Ouzia
That is the threat Juve pose and it is exactly what they did in Turin. They can go for long periods without the ball and then pounce at pace. Brilliant challenge from Jorginho to cut out a potential goal though.
20:12 , Malik Ouzia
11 mins: Superb football from the visitors. Bentancur, McKennie and Cuadrado combine brilliantly down the left with some one-touch stuff and only a crucial intervention from Jorginho denies a shooting chance on the edge of the Blues’ box.
James Robson at Stamford Bridge
20:06 , Malik Ouzia
Chelsea have started the game with great intensity. Actually it is a lot like the start they made in Turin, but they couldn’t maintain it on that occasion.
That will be the key tonight. They must make that domination count.
20:06 , Malik Ouzia
6 mins: Adrien Rabiot made his name as a holding midfielder in the centre of the park but he’s often seen playing a little wider of the left these days and you sense he’s going to have plenty of work to do shackling Reece James down that flank tonight.
20:02 , Malik Ouzia
2 mins: Massive chance, and in the form Ben Chilwell’s in you’d have backed him to score.
Kante does brilliantly driving into the box down the right and though his cross is intended for Hudson-Odoi, it eventually falls kindly to Chilwell, who completely slices his effort.
KICK-OFF!
20:00 , Malik Ouzia
We are up and running...
19:55 , Malik Ouzia
Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku are among the Chelsea subs taking their seats on the bench. I’m sure Thomas Tuchel would love to get through tonight without having to risk the latter on his return to the squad, and perhaps give Werner some minutes after he was unused against Leicester.
19:50 , Malik Ouzia
Right then, warm ups done, we’ve got ten minutes to go. It’s a proper chilly, atmospheric, Champions League night at the Bridge. The travelling corner of Juventus fans is in great voice.
19:38 , Malik Ouzia
It’s a star-studded entourage that Juventus bring with them. Nedved, Del Piero, Agneli, they’ve all been knocking about on the touchline ahead of kick-off.
A reminder of what’s at stake this evening...
19:28 , Malik Ouzia
Juventus currently sit top of the group, three points clear of Chelsea thanks to their victory in the reverse fixture in Turin.
A point would be enough to see Chelsea secure qualification for the last-16 but a draw would also see Juventus confirmed as group winners so Thomas Tuchel’s side know they need victory tonight if they are to have a chance of being seeded in the knockout stage.
Here’s what happened in the reverse fixture...

Prediction
18:34 , Matt Verri
Burnley draw aside, Chelsea have been utterly ruthless since their two-game blip that included that uncharacteristic loss in Turin.
A four-point lead at the Premier League summit despite having been without Lukaku for several weeks is testament to both the strength and depth of the squad and Tuchel’s obvious coaching prowess.
Juve remain a frustratingly inconsistent prospect this season and Chelsea will be eager to level up proceedings in Group H before a final round trip to Russia to face Zenit.
Chelsea 2-1 Juventus.
Chelsea team news
18:25 , Matt Verri
Kai Havertz has added to Chelsea’s injury concerns ahead of tonight’s showdown with Juventus.
Romelu Lukaku also faces late checks to see if he will be allowed to make the bench following an ankle injury.
And Havertz, who has been Chelsea’s only recognised striker in the absence of Lukaku and Timo Werner in recent weeks, will also be assessed after complaining of a tight hamstring.
Werner is, at least, in contention to start after recovering from his own hamstring issues, while Christian Pulisic could join him up front.
