Thomas Tuchel feels Chelsea are this afternoon in good shape ahead of the new season with Marc Cucurella having just been registered in time to face Everton.

The £62million signing from Brighton was at Cobham Training Centre and trained after beating the 12 noon Premier League deadline.

He trained ahead of the trip but is on the bench with fellow new signings Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly handed a start.

The attack will be built around Sterling who mostly lined up alongside Kai Havertz and Mason Mount in pre-season and the trio will continue at Goodison Park.

Even though the Blues did use a back four in pre-season, they continue with their preferred 3-5-2 formation.

It will be a host of the usual names from the senior squad alongside the two new signings with Cucurella on the bench as expected.

Returning loanees Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher are left on the bench.

Starting Chelsea XI (3-4-3): Mendy; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly; James, Jorginho, Kante, Chilwell; Mount, Havertz, Sterling

Subs: Cucurella, Chalobah, Gallagher, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Ziyech, Broja
