Chelsea fixtures and results: 2017-18 Premier League TV schedule and dates
Marcos Alonso's double reignited Chelsea's title defence by securing a 2-1 Wembley victory for the Premier League champions against Tottenham on Sunday.
Tottenham had been well placed to salvage a draw when Alonso's first-half free kick was cancelled out by Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi inadvertently heading the ball into his own net in the 82nd minute just after coming off the bench.
But within six minutes Antonio Conte's Blues were back in front and Batshuayi's blushes were spared. Hugo Lloris threw the ball out to Victor Wanyama, but the midfielder lost possession before Alonso squirmed a shot underneath the goalkeeper.
Last season's top two now have a win apiece after Tottenham opened the season with a victory over Newcastle last Sunday, with Chelsea recovering after a disastrous opening-day 3-2 home defeat to Burnley.
The Blues face further tests with Everton, Leicester, Arsenal and Man City all up soon - a run which star player Eden Hazard is set to miss due to injury.
Conte has already spent big money on Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger, and the Blues are targeting as many as four more additions with the coach fearful that his squad is still light on numbers.
