Chelsea will continue their pursuit of additional wing back options after seeing Danilo complete a move to Manchester City.

The Brazilian had become a transfer target for Antonio Conte’s side as they struggled to negotiate a move for Juventus’ Alex Sandro.

But with the Blues reluctant to meet Real Madrid’s £30.8million asking price, Manchester City swooped.

Another target, AS Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy, is also set to move to Etihad, and while the Blues have not given up hope of signing Alex Sandro, they will pursue alternate options as well.

Former Blue Ryan Bertrand and his Southampton team-mate Cedric Soares are two in players particular who interest Chelsea. Standard Sport first became aware of Chelsea's interest in April.

Meanwhile, Alex Sandro is yet to agree a new contract with Juve, who were defeated 2-1 in the International Champions Cup clash with Barcelona on Saturday.

Having already lost star defender Leonardo Bonnuci to AC Milan this summer, Juventus are hugely reluctant to allow another of their defensive unit to depart.
