Boro languish second from bottom in the league standings but, despite that, they managed to take a point from Champions League-chasing Manchester City on Sunday with a 2-2 draw at the Riverside Stadium.
Travelling to take on leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week will prove a different test for Middlesbrough, however, though they did only narrowly lose 1-0 to Antonio Conte's side in the reverse fixture in November.

Chelsea coach Conte will need to assess the fitness of first-choice defender David Luiz after he was forced off in the 3-0 win over Everton with an injury.
However, Conte said he is hopeful that Luiz hasn't suffered a major injury. "I didn’t speak to the doctor about his injury but I don’t think it’s a serious injury," he said. "I hope he is available to play the next game."
Chelsea have no other injuries to worry about while Boro may be able to call upon Daniel Ayala, who has been recovering from an ankle issue which he sustained in the 1-0 win over Sunderland.
Grant Leadbitter could also return from a hamstring injury as could Victor Valdes, who has had a rib injury.
