Chelsea vs Southampton team news: Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill start as Willian and Nathan Ake miss out

Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and Diego Costa have been restored to Chelsea's starting line-up against Southampton tonight as Willian, Nathan Ake and Michy Batshuayi miss out.

Antonio Conte sprung a surprise on Chelsea fans on Saturday when he started Ake in defence, Willian on the flank and Batshuayi up front for the Blues' FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham.

The move paid off with all three impressing for Chelsea - with Willian in particular shining as the Brazilian scored twice as the Blues beat Spurs 4-2.

But with attentions turning back to the Premier League this week, Conte has reverted to his tried-and-trusted defence for the visit of the Saints at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night - with Cesc Fabregas in for Pedro in attack.

That means Cahill - who has recovered from a bout of gastroenteritis - slots back into the three-man defence alongside David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso are acting as the team's usual wing-backs, N'Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic start in central midfield while Costa, Hazard and Fabregas play in the attacking positions.

Chelsea starting XI: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso, Fabregas, Costa, Hazard.

Chelsea subs: Begovic, Ake, Terry, Chalobah, Willian, Pedro, Batshuayi
