Cheltenham Festival 2018: Day four betting guide and tips for the Gold Cup and Triumph Hurdle

The Cheltenham Festival draws to a close today, with all focus set to be fixed on the famous Gold Cup.

It’s been a busy week, that has seen plenty of money made, but also lost, and Friday offers a last chance to end on a high.

So here's Matt Trounce, one of Ladbrokes' trading team, to give us his tips for the fourth and final day of action:

The highlight of the week is the Cheltenham Gold Cup (3.30) and this looks a cracking renewal with sixteen going to post. The one I like is Our Duke who aims to give his trainer, Jessica Harrington, back to back wins in the Gold Cup after she won it with Sizing John last year.

Our Duke was one of the market leaders for the race over the close season but was disappointing on his first start of the season. Since then he has had treatment on his back and he looked back to his best when beating Presenting Percy last time. That form looks exceptional now after the second won the RSA Chase on Wednesday and he looks tailor made for a Gold Cup.

Best price: Our Duke 9/2 (3.30 Gold Cup)

The opening race on the card is the Triumph Hurdle (1.30) and I like the look of Farclas for Gordon Elliott. I'm taking a strong view that the Irish juveniles are better than there Irish counterparts and he looks the strongest of the bunch. He still looked green when second in a grade 1 last time and with that experience as well as a first time tongue tie, I expected him to improve past Mr Adjudicator.

Best price: Farclas 6/1 (1.30 Triumph Hurdle)

In the final race (5.30) of the meeting festival regular Bouvreuil looks to hold solid each way claims at a bigger price. He has finished in the first three at the last three festivals and looks to have been laid out for the meeting once again.

Best price: Bouvreuil 14/1 (5.30 Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup)
