Liam Payne has been busy proving there are no hard feelings between himself and ex-girlfriend Cheryl.

The Strip That Down singer text Cheryl live on BBC Radio One to request she plays his new song Polaroid.

Cheryl, who has one-year-old son Bear with Payne, joined Nick Grimshaw on his Drivetime show to promote her hit new single Love Made Me Do It.

“We are going to play Liam Payne in a second,” Grimmy told listeners. “And we’re playing Liam Payne not out of choice but, well it is out of choice, but he has been on to request it via Cheryl.”

The former Girls Aloud singer sighed before replying: “No... I do love the song, but he did say, ‘play my song’.”

Keen to know if he was listening to the show, Grimmy said: “What does he think of the show so far? We’d like some feedback please, Liam.”

Cheryl revealed: “Yeah he loves it. Says we’re hilarious and this should be a permanent thing.”

Payne previously reached out publicly to Cheryl to congratulate her on the release of her comeback single after a four year hiatus.

He tweeted a rose emoji as a nod to the huge red inking covering her behind alongside the words: “Congratulations @CherylOfficial on your first release in 4 years can’t wait for everyone to hear the rest.”

The exes are currently locked in a chart battle for this week’s top spot, with Love Made Me Do It and Polaroid up against Ariana Grande’s thank u, next.

Cheryl suffered a drop in streaming after falling out of Spotify’s official top 200 two days after releasing her new single.

Music streams, however, are only a small part of the Official Charts calculation with an artist needing 1,000 paid user streams or 600 free subscription streams to equal one sale.
