Cheryl Baker says she auditioned for 'EastEnders' but was 'rubbish'
Cheryl Baker has revealed she recently tried out for a part in EastEnders but didn’t get it after a “rubbish" audition.
The Bucks Fizz star – who has previously said the financial struggles of the coronavirus pandemic have left her completely “broke” – tried out during lockdown but was battling the nerves and didn’t learn her lines properly beforehand.
Baker wasn’t cast but told the Daily Star she “didn’t deserve the part”.

“I auditioned for EastEnders recently but I didn’t get the part. I was a bit rubbish really,” said the Making Your Mind Up singer.
“I was a bit nervous and didn’t learn my lines properly.”
However, Baker – who was apparently in line for the part of a woman who runs a theatre school – is hoping for another shot at a part on the popular BBC soap.
“I’d like them to give me a second chance,” said the 67-year-old.
Baker found fame in the 80s with her pop group Bucks Fizz, which went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981.
She continues to perform in a spin-off act called The Fizz with original band members Mike Nolan and Jay Aston.
