Cheryl Fernandez-Versini To Drop Ex-Husband's Surname

You might have only just learned how to spell Cheryl Fernandez Versini but it seems like it was all for nothing as the X Factor judge has decided to drop the snazzy French surname amid her divorce from husband Jean-Bernard.

It’ll certainly save on our Twitter character limit if nothing else.

According to The Sun, the star is keen to go by just ‘Cheryl’ for the moment, but is apparently considering going back to 'Cheryl Cole’, the name she took when she married footballer Ashley Cole, instead of her maiden name 'Tweedy’.

We wonder how Ashley will feel about that, eh?

The news comes after it was confirmed that she is dating One Direction’s Liam Payne, with the 22-year-old singer taking to his Instagram page yesterday to share a snapshot of himself cuddling up to Chezza following speculation about their relationship.

It’s been said that the couple have been dating since December, just four months after Cheryl’s marriage to Jean-Bernard is said to have broken down.

A source also revealed that Liam has already got the “seal of approval” from Cheryl’s pals, with the insider telling The Mirror: “Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Cheryl’s mum Joan have all told Cheryl to go for it, as they think he could be just what she needs at the moment.”

Liam also seems to be pretty chuffed, with the star simply updating his Instagram bio to “happy”.
