Cheryl will miss her first Cannes Film Festival in seven years because it’s ‘too soon’ for her to return to work.

The 33-year-old was expected to debut her post-baby body in her first public appearance since becoming a mum last month.

But now it seems she will no longer attend next month’s star-studded event as part of her lucrative deal with French beauty giant L’Oreal.

‘Having only given birth less than one month ago, Cheryl will not be attending Cannes Film Festival 2017 with L’Oreal Paris,’ a spokesperson for the brand said.

A source added to the MailOnline : ‘Cheryl only gave birth last month so understandably it is too soon for her to return to work.’

Earlier this week it was reported that she was gearing up to make an appearance at the festival.

A source told The Sun Online: ‘As a brand ambassador for L’Oreal, it is believed Cheryl is contractually obliged to make an appearance at Cannes Film Festival.

‘Cannes is the most glamorous showbiz event in the world and (she) is always incredibly proud to be invited and represent the brand.’

The former X Factor judge welcomed her first child, a son, with boyfriend Liam Payne last month.

While the pair have remained tight-lipped about the tot, Directioner Pedro claims Liam is missing his little man.

During a meeting with his idol in California last week, Pedro asked Liam how the little one is doing.

Liam replied: ‘He’s great, he’s good. I love him and I miss him a lot,’ Pedro claimed on Twitter.
