Cheryl's ex Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini admits he 'didn't like' star's 'mad world'

As much as he has tried to avoid talking about his famous ex-wife whilst promoting his new restaurant, it appears that Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini just can’t avoid those pesky Cheryl questions.

Just days after the French businessman shot down a question about the former X Factor judge during a seriously awkward live TV interview, he has finally cracked and admitted that he “didn’t like” the celebrity lifestyle that he was thrust into when he married Chezza.

JB and Cheryl tied the knot in 2014 after just three months of dating, and the 36 year old has now admitted that a lot has changed for him since their big day.

He told The Mirror: “I’ve lost a lot. I don’t have my parents, I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m alone now.

“I married someone who was famous, I was thrust into this mad world – I didn’t like it.”

Speaking about the negative parts of fame, he continued: “There was really awful things said about me, about my family, but I feel like I survived it.

“And I’m here surviving, doing my thing.

“It’s been two years – I feel like a different person. That was the old me.”

JB went on to add that he doesn’t even think about his former love, telling the publication: “When I’m not with someone I don’t think about them. Right now I’m focused on work.”

The French hunk is currently promoting his pop-up restaurant, Versini, in Cannes for the 2017 Film Festival, and many celebrities have flocked to try it out, including Naomi Campbell and Eva Longoria.

The restaurant is named in tribute to his late mother and it is thought that a permanent establishment will open in London following the French pop-up.

On Thursday, JB was left flustered when he was asked about his ex during a live interview about his restaurant with Good Morning Britain’s showbiz reporter, Richard Arnold.

Getting straight to the point, Arnold asked: “Do you have a message for Cheryl about her baby?”

An unimpressed Jean-Bernard quickly replied: “Well you know what it’s the 70th film festival, we might as well focus on this festival and making it the best possible.

“It’s the first time with my venture here and I just want to make it count and make it big.”

The show then cut back to Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid in the Good Morning Britain studio, with Susanna summing it all up when she quipped: “Hashtag awks.”
