Cheryl's ex Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini banned from naming his restaurant after himself

Poor Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini hasn’t had an easy ride since he split from estranged wife Cheryl, with the French businessman being painted as a villain before watching his ex shack up with One Direction hunk, Liam Payne.

Now JB has apparently had a spanner thrown into his business plans thanks to his famous ex as he is unable to name his new restaurant after himself… Because Cheryl owns the rights to his surname.

Pretty outrageous, right?

Jean-Bernard apparently wanted to open an exclusive restaurant in West London called ‘Versini’, but Chezza has put a stop to that happening even though she has no intention of using his surname in the future.

Speaking to The Sun, a source shared: “JB is gutted that he can’t use his own name – even though Cheryl is divorcing him and has no intention of ever using it again in future.

“It seems completely wrong because he is trying to move on with his career.”

JB recently bid for the rights of his name but the Intellectual Property Office turned it down as Cheryl had already trademarked it.

Cheryl has already professionally dropped ‘Fernandez-Versini’ from her name and now simply goes by ‘Cheryl’.
