Chester Bennington dead: Footage shows Linkin Park's last gig

Chester Bennington, the singer and frontman for Linkin Park, an alternative band best known for releasing the iconic albums Hybrid Theory and Meteora, has died aged 41.

Bennington was touring with Linkin Park earlier this month, playing an incredible show at the O2 Brixton Academy, the Grime rapper Stormzy joining the band on stage.

The band’s last gig on the tour was at the Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham, UK, where they stormed through a 26 song setlist spanning their entire career.

Their last song was ‘Bleed It Out’ from the album Minutes to Midnight, Bennington running around the stage topless, engaging with the frantic crowd. Watch footage below.

TMZ reports that Bennington killed himself, his body was found in a Los Angeles Area residence just months after his good friend Chris Cornell killed himself. Band members have since confirmed the reports.

The band were promoting their latest album, One More Light, the next scheduled stop being the Xfinity Center on 27 July in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Fans have since been sharing tributes online, along with some of Bennington’s best performances, including the astonishing isolated vocals from the iconic song “Numb”.
