Chicago Bears dominate Dallas Cowboys to keep playoff hopes alive

The Dallas Cowboys’ miserable campaign continued as they maintained this season’s record of losing to every .500 team and above that they have played.

Thursday Night Football at Soldier Field saw the Chicago Bears beat the Cowboys 31-24, leaving Dallas at 6-7 in the NFC East.

The Bears controlled the majority of the game, despite Jason Garrett’s side getting the first score with their opening, 17-play drive. Unfortunately for Dallas, that was about as good as it got for them all night as their offense looked tame and run defence suspect.

Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who has struggled and spluttered over the course of the season, played as well as he has all season, completing 23 of his 31 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite the poor season, incredibly, the Cowboys still lead the NFC East, thanks to the Eagles, Redskins and Giants all having terrible years.

This win for the Bears keeps their slim playoff hopes alive. At 7-6 they trail the Packers and Vikings in the NFC North, but a solid finish to the year and they could sneak into the postseason as a wildcard.
